Building the Imagined : 3 Phases

Designing phase

Ever wondered how a bike that's supposed to carry 2 people still works perfectly fine when 3  people sit on it?
The designing of the vehicles hides the answer to it. Before building a real life model, building virtual models is a must. These virtual models help us understand and simulate real life scenarios. Whether a component would sustain certain pressure, force and load, or will it fail?
Will the design compensate excess load in extreme conditions? What will be its behaviour on different terrains? All these questions are answered in the designing phase.

The designing phase thus consists of different members of various subsystems custom designing components to be installed in Car.
Intense research and development is incorporated behind the scenes of developing an efficient and optimised design.
Designs are made by aiming to:
1) reduce unsprung mass
2) increase strength and lifespan

Various analysis are performed on the design and simulations are done using 3d modelling analysis softwares like SolidWorks, Ansys, Fusion 360, Lotus, Simscale, Matlab and Simulink

But how do we verify our designs?
1) calculations
2) virtual simulations

Manufacturing phase

Its crucial to give life to your designs. Manufacturing does this magic of converting ideas to reality. Team reaches out to different vendors and material suppliers to help us with manufacturing of custom made components and designs.

We primarily use machining methods like
1) VMC
2) CNC
3) Water jet machining
4) lazer cutting
5) Welding

Few major components we manufacture includes
1) Brake calipers
2) Brake discs
3) Hub and Knuckle
4) Chassis

Testing phase

After all the designing and manufacturing is finalized, it's the time to test the built quality of our vehicle.
We endure the vehicle on different terrains and road conditions to test the strength and durability of the custom made components and the overall vehicle.

These three phases are distributed over a period of one year. 3-4 months is invested in designing 2-3 months in manufacturing and 1-2 months of rigorous testing.

Thus compiling all year of passionate working, We finally are event participation ready. Ready to push boundaries of Sustainability.
